The Theatres Trust [Alliance member] believes that current and future generations should have access to good quality theatres where they can be inspired by and enjoy live performance. They champion the future of live performance, by protecting and supporting excellent theatre buildings, which meet the needs of their communities.
The Trust promotes great theatre buildings by advising, funding and campaigning on behalf of theatres across the UK. With expertise in architecture, heritage, planning and theatre management, each year they support more than 350 theatres, local authorities and community groups to create, adapt and save their local theatre as a valuable resource at the heart of the community.
The Theatres Trust is looking for candidates with skills and experience at a senior level in the following areas:
- Theatre operator or owner (2 Trustees), one of whom should have specialist knowledge of Scotland and with a preference for at least one Trustee from the non-commercial sector and/or outside London
- Planning specialist or consultant with experience or knowledge of planning within a local authority context (1 Trustee)
- Performer or other active creative professional in the UK theatre or live performance sector (1 Trustee)
They would greatly welcome applications from all sections of the community so that we are representative of the diverse communities we serve.
This is an exciting time to get involved with the Theatres Trust as the organisation undergoes a process of transformation to raise our profile and our impact as the leading body protecting and promoting theatres across the UK.
