Editor News

£21,000 – £27,000 according to experience
6 months contract / ongoing.

This is an opportunity for a confident and well-organised person with experience in practical care for a site to step up to the challenges of caring for a historic site and visitor attraction. Experience and training or qualifications in conservation and heritage is desirable, and commitment to heritage and learning about its care is essential.

Role Purpose

This hands-on role supports the mission of the charity to conserve the built and natural heritage of the Royal Gunpowder Mills in two distinct areas of the site: the heritage visitor attraction buildings and facilities, and a Scheduled Monument featuring redundant buildings. The scope of the role includes practical tasks in the Visitor Attraction to be achieved by undertaking yourself, or through the Site Assistant, contractors or volunteers, as appropriate. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a good visitor experience and that the built and natural heritage is passed on to future generations to enjoy.

Initially offered as a 6 month contract, it is hoped that the post will be ongoing.
