Editor News

The Board of Trustees of the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust is seeking 3 new trustees to join the Board of what is arguably Britain’s biggest and most exciting heritage regeneration project. The Trust is seeking trustees with specific skills in the areas of finance, architecture and contract management.

The Trust is currently in a start-up phase with a relatively small staff. In addition to day-to-day management of current trading activities, it is launching a series of major capital works programmes and the preparation of a strategic master plan which will lead to a significantly larger business.

The Architectural Trustee’s role would primarily be to advise the CEO and Project Organiser on any technical queries raised by or about the work by project architects that require specialist architectural advice to inform the response by WWPT.

The Contracts Trustee’s role will primarily be to advise the CEO and Project Organiser on any technical queries raised by or about the work of the project contractor that require specialist advice to inform the response by WWPT.

The Finance Trustee’s role would cover the following areas:

1. Oversight of the finance team and financial operations including financial controls, budgets and forecasts, liaison with the external auditors as well as assessing the competence and size of the finance function with regard to the scale and complexity of the Trusts activities.
2. Supporting the Chief Executive and the finance team with strategic financial advice
3. Ensuring appropriate financial controls are developed and implemented for major project income and expenditure including appropriate reporting to the Trustees.
4. Communication to the Trustees (at an appropriate level of detail) of the financial position of the Trust and decisions that they need to make of a financial nature.
5. To sit on the Audit Committee

This role will require 2/3 days per month unpaid the majority of which will be at Wentworth Woodhouse.
