World Heritage UK joins the Heritage Alliance

Editor News

The Heritage Alliance is delighted to welcome World Heritage UK as a member. World Heritage UK is a new membership charity set up in 2015 to undertake networking, advocacy and promotion for the UK’s 31 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and the Tentative List sites progressing towards WHS status.  Its vision is that “the United Kingdom will have a coherent approach to World Heritage Sites, which will be better known and understood, and supported through sustainable funding so that their Outstanding Universal Values can provide inspiration, learning and enjoyment for society”. New members (organisations and individuals) are welcome.

In its first two years, it has held several technical and networking meetings and is looking forward to its 3rd annual conference, ‘Communicating World Heritage’, at which Heritage Alliance CEO, Lizzie Glithero-West is speaking, to be held at the Ironbridge Gorge WHS in October.
